Questions
What is clmbrs?
A leaderboard of fashion brands on Shopify, ranked by the quality of their product data. Not their photos, prices or ads: the attributes behind each product, like category, colour, fabric, fit, neckline and sleeve length.
Who runs it?
SIXFIT.AI. We build tools that read fashion catalogs and fill in the product data they're missing. We started clmbrs because most brands have no idea how their data compares to anyone else's, and a ranking makes that visible.
What does the score measure?
One question: looking only at a store's product data, how well can a system tell each active product apart from the rest of the catalog?
If three dresses are all listed as “black, polyester, dress”, nothing in the data separates them, and the score drops. If each one says what actually makes it different (the neckline, the length, the fit), the score goes up.
It runs from 0 to 100. At 0, the data gives a system no better way to pick out a product than guessing. At 100, every product is fully distinct.
Why does that matter?
Because that data is what decides whether a shopper finds the product. Collection filters, on-site search, Google Shopping, Meta ads and AI shopping assistants all match people to products by their attributes. A dress with no neckline in its data never shows up when someone filters by neckline, however good the photos are.
What does this have to do with Black Friday?
Black Friday is when the most shoppers hit your filters, your search, your ads and now AI assistants, all at once, and all looking for something specific. It's the weekend when weak product data costs the most, and the weeks before it are the last good moment to fix it. So in the run-up we count down to it on the board.
Is it fair to compare a small brand with a big one?
The score accounts for catalog size, so a 60-product label and a 3,000-product retailer can be compared directly. If you'd rather compete with stores your own size, use the catalog size filters on the board.
How do I get on the board?
Two ways, both free. Upload your Shopify products export to the free metafield check at sixfit.ai and choose to be listed, or install the free Catalog Checkup app from the Shopify App Store and opt in on its report page.
Will my store be listed without my permission?
No. Nothing is listed unless the store's owner opts in. The default on both the check and the app is “Don't list me”.
What's the difference between anonymous and listed by name?
Anonymous shows your rank, score, main category, catalog size and country, as something like “A clothing store, DE”. By name also shows your store name and domain.
We only show a name once we know it's really your store: you installed the app (Shopify confirms who owns the store), or the email you used for the check is at your store's domain. Otherwise you appear anonymously until we've checked it by hand.
What do you publish, and what do you keep private?
Published: rank, score, main category, catalog size band, country, and name and domain if you chose that. Never published: your email, your products, your full report, or anything else from your export.
Why isn't my store showing?
Usually one of these: you didn't opt in, the board hasn't refreshed yet (it updates within an hour), or your store has fewer than 20 active products. Small catalogs are scored but not ranked, because with a handful of products almost any data looks distinct. If you chose “by name” but see yourself anonymously, we haven't been able to confirm the store is yours yet.
Why did my score change when I didn't touch anything?
The score is for your catalog as it was at the last check. New products that look like existing ones in the data, or products going active or inactive, move it. If you have the Catalog Checkup app, its latest scan is what counts; it also replaces any earlier score from an uploaded export.
How do I climb?
Fill in the attributes your customers actually filter and search by. Use Shopify's product categories as specifically as they go (“Midi Dresses”, not just “Clothing”). Look at the products the report says look identical and add whatever really sets them apart. Then run the check again; your new score replaces the old one.
Can I see exactly how the score is calculated?
No. We explain what it measures, but the exact method stays ours. Partly because it's our work, and partly so the board rewards better product data rather than whoever reverse-engineered the formula.
Is it only for Shopify and only for fashion?
For now, yes on both. The check reads Shopify's export format and Shopify's product categories, and the board is about fashion: clothing, shoes, bags, jewellery and accessories.
Does it cost anything?
No. The check, the app and the listing are free.
How do I get removed?
If you listed through the app, change the setting on its report page or uninstall it. If you listed through the metafield check, email hello@sixfit.ai and we'll take you off. Either way it shows within an hour.
Can someone help me improve my score?
Yes, that's what we do at SIXFIT.AI. Write to hello@sixfit.ai and we'll go through your report with you.
